Marbella Club

Marbella, Spain

Sea air, mountain views, and a prime spot on Marbella’s Golden Mile, set in pine groves away from the bustle, creates a microcosm for slow-paced living at Marbella Club. The hotel calls on guests to move intentionally, nurturing the important things in life—”family, community, laughter, and togetherness.”

Marbella Club — Marbella, Spain

The classic Andulsian look and feel of Marbella Club is home to 115 rooms and suites, 17 villas, and six totally private Grand Villas that range in size from three-six bedrooms, making them perfect for special family trips. Residences are spread across a beautiful 60-year-old garden where nothing is taller than the trees. The hotel sits right by the ocean with a seawater swimming pool, six restaurants, and a thalassotherapy spa.

The story

Marbella Club is one of the most notable and well-known hotels in Europe, coveted for its lush gardens, slow pace, and unparalleled reputation among the jetset. The hotel started life in the von Hohenloe family as their humble Mediterranean hideaway, then known as Finca Santa Margarita. In 1954, Prince Alfonoso purchased the hotel and the rest – as they say – is history. Marbella Club went on to become synonymous with stars of music, film, and sport.

Your stay

Villa del Mar is the hotel’s “beachfront jewel in the crown,” favored by celebrities and stars the world over. Whispering fountains meet sprawling living areas both inside and out, with traditional Andalusian patios, eclectic art, and sea-facing terraces. It’s the ultimate place for entertaining and celebrating.

Being part of a family of likeminded proffesionals, who have become my Friends as well!

How to spend your time

If you’re called to leave the hotel’s seawater swimming pool, six restaurants, wellness center, and never-ending gardens and wellness amenities, teeing off at the hotel’s world-class golf course or spending the day at the stables is never a compromise. After a day on the go, book lunch at the famous Beach Club where you’ll often find co-owner, Count Rudi, waiting to strike up conversation.

Fall in love with

“An open-air utopia for spirited minds,” is how the hotel describes its kid’s club. Plan for moments of restoration while your little ones learn to make perfumes, cook, and adventure around the grounds by bike or horseback. The club is one of the largest in Europe and underpins the hotel’s commitment to family.

Expect the unexpected

Fall in love with Mediterranean cuisine: from salt-crusted sea bass to black paella and spicy gambas al pil-pil, MC Beach takes its cue from Malaga’s traditional chiringuitos or beachside seafood restaurants. Turn a glass of wine into a bottle and spend the afternoon people watching. Ask the hotel staff for a recommendation, and they’ll introduce you to tapas in old Marbella town—and after you’ve tried them, not much else will compare.
